A small Russian community outside of Moscow is campaigning to have one of its roads renamed "Donald Trump Street."
Some 300 people in the village of Ryazan, 125 miles southeast of the Russian capital, have signed a petition asking that an alleyway called "Godless" — a nod to the former Soviet Union's elimination of religion a century ago — be given the name of America's president-elect.
Sergey Bizyukin, who launched the drive and calls it "Make Ryazan Great Again," told CNN he hopes to have the street rechristened in time for Trump's inauguration on Jan. 20th.
"Some saw it as a joke and signed because it was fun, some stood for normalization of U.S.-Russia ties, and some signed because they don't like the name of Godless Street," Bizukin told the cable news network.
"Donald Trump Street" faces an uphill battle though, because streets in Ryazan cannot be renamed after people still alive.
