President Donald Trump's legal team will likely decide within 10 days whether he will interview with special counsel Robert Mueller, who is leading the Russia investigation.
Rudy Giuliani, the former New York City mayor who is now serving as Trump's personal lawyer, told Politico the decision will come soon.
"I think our decisions will get made in the next week to 10 days," he said.
Mueller sent a new proposal of how he would question Trump to the White House this week. Giuliani said Trump and his legal team will put their heads together this weekend to debate whether to allow Trump to be interviewed as part of the probe that began more than a year ago over allegations the Trump campaign might have colluded with Russia.
Giuliani told Politico he does not want his client asked about obstruction of justice, which Mueller's team is reported to be looking at as well.
"We don't want questioning on obstruction. They would have to concede that," he told Politico. "It depends on how much they want his testimony on" allegations of Russian collusion.
Giuliani added the president will stay at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, until the middle of August. He was in Pennsylvania for a rally Thursday night and traveled to New Jersey after.
