Romney: 'It Kills Me' Not to Be President

By    |   Monday, 04 March 2013 05:28 PM EST

In his first major TV appearance since he lost the election in November, Mitt Romney says he definitely won’t run for president again but insists he still wants a role in setting the Republican agenda.

“I want to have influence on getting our party into a position where we can be successful in solving the problems the country has,” he told Fox News on Sunday in an interview reported by the Boston Herald.

“It kills me not to be there, not to be in the White House doing what needs to be done.”

As for the current resident of the White House, Romney declares: “Nero is fiddling.”
