Attorney General Jeff Sessions' chief of staff Jody Hunt has told White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus that Sessions has no intention of resigning despite daily public criticism from the president, The Washington Post reported.
The Post quoted someone "familiar with the exchange" saying Hunt told Priebus his boss "plans to move forward with his agenda in the department and he has no plans for resigning."
Priebus did not say Trump plans to fire the attorney general, the Post quoted its sources.
Trump has made public statements and tweeted almost daily about his frustrations with Sessions. His top concern seems to be Sessions recusing himself from the Russia investigation. Trump told The New York Times last week if Sessions had told him he would recuse he never would have tapped him to head the Justice Department.
