Florida tops the list of most desirable states to live, according to a new Rasmussen Reports poll.
Adults were asked this question: "If you could move to any state you wanted to, would you rather live in California, Texas, Florida, New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois, or some other state?"
Here are how the poll results break down:
- 18% say they would rather live in Florida.
- 11% say they would prefer California.
- 10% say they would rather live in New York.
- 9% say they would choose Texas.
- 6% say they would rather live in Pennsylvania.
- 4% say they would prefer Illinois.
- 37% say they would choose to live in some other state rather than the six named.
- 5% were undecided.
The poll results also showed:
- 31% say they would prefer to live in a suburban area.
- 26% say they prefer a small town.
- 22% say they would rather live in a rural area.
- 18% say they would prefer an urban area.
- 3% were unsure.
The poll, conducted July 14-17, surveyed 1,000 adults. The margin of error is plus or minus 3 percentage points.
