CNN must answer for their coverage of events such as the Sunday night Las Vegas shooting, according to Michael Welner, a forensic psychiatrist.
"I think that CNN's going to have to answer how they demonize gun enthusiasts and how CNN actually contributes to mass shooting … and I believe that they do," Welner said Tuesday on "Fox & Friends."
"But that's a side issue," Welner said, and then discussed a way to address the killings.
Mass shootings must be condemned, as a way to take action against potential attackers who might copy previous shooters' methods, Welner added.
"We don't demonize mass killing enough, and that's why people feel they can do it for a cause."
"When you kill complete strangers and try to kill as many as possible, you're trying to create a spectacle," he said.
"Fox & Friends" co-host Brian Kilmeade later issued a disclaimer about Welner's comments about CNN, saying they were Welner's opinion, not that of Fox News.
