Almost 40 percent of Donald Trump's supporters believe minorities have too much influence in society, while a sparse 10 percent of Clinton supporters think the same, according to the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll.
The results:
- Trump supporters: 38 percent believe minorities have too much influence;
- Clinton supporters: 10 percent believe minorities have too much influence;
- Trump supporters: 21 percent think women have too little influence in society;
- Clinton supporters: 58 percent think women have too little influence in society.
About 50 percent of Clinton supporters say men have too much influence in society, while 53 percent think the same about whites. Only 20 percent Trump supporters feel men have too much influence and 8 percent believe whites have too much influence.
The survey also studied divisions based on education level.
While 51 percent of college graduates feel minorities and women have too little influence in society, 45 percent of college graduates believe whites have too much influence.
The poll was conducted with 1,001 adult respondents, including 651 likely voters between September 19 and 22. The poll has a margin of error of 3.5 points.
