A majority of Americans surveyed believe Russia interfered with the election, and 75 percent of those think Russia intended to help Donald Trump get elected, according to the latest Quinnipiac University Poll released Friday.
The results:
- 55 percent, just 30 percent of Republicans, believe Russia interfered.
- 75 percent, just 43 percent of Republicans, believe it was to help Trump.
- 53 percent, just 29 percent of Republicans, support sanctions against Russia.
- 82 percent say any further findings should be released to the public.
Exactly half of those surveyed say Trump is too friendly toward Russia, while 40 percent believe he has the right attitude, according to the poll.
Regarding Trump's attitude toward other countries, those surveyed think:
- Israel: 51 percent say he has the right attitude.
- China: 49 percent say he has the right attitude; 25 percent say he is too unfriendly.
- Mexico: 39 percent say he has the right attitude; 53 percent say he is too unfriendly.
From Jan. 5 to 9, Quinnipiac University surveyed 899 voters nationwide with a
margin of error of +/- 3.3 percentage points.
