Poll: Rohrabacher Leads Dem Challenger by 2 Points in Calif. House Race

GOP Rep. Dana Rohrabacher has a slim 2-point lead over Democratic challenger Harley Rouda, in California’s 48th Congressional District. according to a Monmouth University poll released Tuesday.

Here is how the poll breaks down:

  • 50 percent of likely voters in the district favor Rohrabacher, compared to 48 percent who back Rouda. (The results assume a normal turnout of voters in the district.)
  • 93 percent of Republicans favor Rohrabacher, compared to 7 percent who back Rouda
  • 97 percent of Democrats back Rouda, while 2 percent favor Rohrabacher
  • 48 percent of independents support Rohrabacher compared to 47 percent who support Rouda.

The poll, conducted Oct. 17-21, surveyed 372 likely voters in the district. The margin of error is plus or minus 5.1 percentage points.
