Current, Former Palin Aides Defend Her

Wednesday, 22 February 2012 07:51 PM EST

Current and former aides to Sarah Palin are strongly denouncing an upcoming HBO movie about the 2008 presidential campaign.

None of them has yet seen the movie "Game Change," based on the best-selling book, with several saying Wednesday that they had been denied the opportunity for a screening.

A recent trailer for the film, which debuts next month, shows Palin — played by Julianne Moore — lashing out about how she's being handled, mumbling about missing her baby and described by a campaign strategist as being on the verge of a nervous breakdown.

Meg Stapleton, a former Palin spokeswoman, angrily defended the former Alaska governor, saying she never saw the kind of behavior described in the book or depicted in the trailers. She called the depictions "sick."
