Asked about how he makes decisions at the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office, President Donald Trump told "Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace: "I don't think about them."

"I don't think about, how I make them – I make what I consider the right decision," Trump told Wallace, clarifying a somewhat counterintuitive statement. "I have great people working at the White House. They don't get enough credit.

"I have some tremendously talented people, and I will talk to them, and sometimes I'll have them go at each other – I do like that, let them go at each other – and they do."

President Trump did admit he does second-guess himself "all the time," but a robust debate in the White House helps, he said.

"They're very competitive people, and at the end I make a decision and it's certainly – on the economy, a lot of things we've been – we've made a lot of good decisions," President Trump added. "I want to keep it that way."

Calling North Korea one of his administration's "very tough" decisions, President Trump said he was "very happy the way we went" and he has "made some great decisions for the people of this country."

"We were putting our country, in many cases, last," President Trump said of the past administration. "We were more worried about the world then we were worried about the United States.

"That's not going to happen with me."
