The federal government no longer promises consumers that they can keep their old health insurance plans under Obamacare — a promise first promulgated on the now-defunct HealthReform.gov site, according to
The Daily Caller.
The Obama administration switched from
HealthReform.gov — which was used to explain and publicize Obamacare — to the
enrollment website HealthCare.gov. The original site then went dark.
The Caller reported that
the broken HealthReform.gov promise can still be read in archived form: "Keeping the Health Plan You Have … The rule announced today preserves the ability of the American people to keep their current plan if they like it."
Visitors to HealthReform.gov are now redirected to HealthCare.gov.
However, the "Keeping the Plan You Like" commitment has not disappeared altogether.
It is still posted on the
Health and Human Services site.
