Four people are dead in Oak Forest, Illinois, after authorities responded to a "barricaded subject" in the Chicago suburb, according to local news reports.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the deaths, but police have not released many details about what happened.
Footage from a video surveillance camera, though, shows a man opening fire on multiple people before returning to a home that then goes up in flames.
Neighbors said they heard more than a dozen gunshots at about 6:30 a.m.
ABC7 said a fire broke out around 7:15 a.m.
Oak Forest Police initially said they were responding to a domestic disturbance involving a report of gunfire in the area.
Two gunshot victims were found in the driveway and a third in the road, according to ABC7.
Once the fire was put out, police found the fourth deceased person, believed to be the subject.
"It's a very tragic situation today; we don't know who's been hurt, if anyone was able to get out of the house," neighbor Cheryl Wilson said.
"We just ask that everyone pray for the family," Cody Wilson said.
