NFL players appeared to continue hiding protesters during "Monday Night Football" this week, when Kansas City Chiefs running back Charcandrick West stood in front of teammate Kenneth Acker, who sat on the bench during the national anthem.
West "appeared to go out of his way" to block ESPN cameras from Acker, moving when the cameraperson moved, Business Insider reported.
The move appeared similar to a scene before Sunday's game between the Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos, when Raiders staff members concealed running back Marshawn Lynch as he sat during the national anthem.
On Monday, Chiefs defensive back Marcus Peters also sat during the anthem, but no one stood in front of him shielding him from cameras, Business Insider noted, calling West's movements "curious."
Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick started the NFL protests last season by taking a knee during the national anthem to protest racial injustice in America.
President Donald Trump fueled the fire at a Sept. 22 rally in Alabama when he said, "Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, 'Get that son of a b***h off the field right now, out. He's fired. He's fired!'" The Washington Post reported.
The protests peaked during the third week of this NFL season, when more than 200 players sat or kneeled during the national anthem on Sept. 24.
The debate has continued with Trump weighing in again on Twitter before Sunday's games.
Some NFL players have continued the protests, Sports Illustrated reported.
West's movements before Monday's game drew attention on Twitter.
