Jeb Bush is urging incumbent Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson to stop his lawsuits over the ballot count in the hotly contested race with GOP Gov. Rick Scott.

In a tweet Wednesday, Florida’s former governor suggested Nelson will likely wind up the loser — and advised: “Don’t tarnish your years of service to Florida.”

Politico has reported that Nelson faces long odds in his bid to flip the results in the race, with Scott leading by 12,652 votes heading into the contest's automatic recount.

Nelson has filed several lawsuits challenging how Florida election officials tabulate and evaluate ballots, and on Tuesday asked a federal judge to delay the Wednesday recount deadlines for his and other Florida races, The Hill reported.

Meanwhile, Scott has taken legal action to ensure transparency in Broward and Palm Beach counties, where recounts are still taking place, The Hill reported. The courts ruled the counties were not adequately transparent, but did not put forward any evidence of election fraud.

Likewise, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said it isn’t actively investigating either county, despite Scott's request that it do so, because it has not received credible allegations of fraud, The Hill reported.
