MSNBC Beats Fox News in Prime Time Key Demo

MSNBC topped all cable news outlets in Monday's prime time among viewers ages 25-54, TV Newser is reporting.

Coming in second with the key demographic was Fox News. CNN finished in the third spot, according to TV Newser.

The cable news programs were dominated by coverage of the 17 murders at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

How Monday's prime time numbers break down with those in the 25-54 age group:

  • MSNBC — 512,000 viewers
  • Fox News — 507,000 viewers
  • CNN — 370,000 viewers

However, Fox finished first in total viewers in Monday's prime time, followed by MSNBC and CNN.
