It is wrong for a caravan of immigrants to approach the United States as an "invading force," Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., said Friday.

"There is a right way and a wrong way to come to the United States," Blackburn, who is vying in her state's Senate race, told Fox News' "Fox & Friends." You don't come as an invading force, and that is what we are seeing with this caravan . . . There is an opportunity for those who need asylum, but people coming should want to enter the country wanting to abide by the rule of law.

"If my opponent had his way, he would be down there at the border welcoming them, giving them driving certificates, which is what he did when he was governor of Tennessee," Blackburn said of Democratic challenger Phil Bredesen.

"We have seen video of his campaign spokesperson encouraging illegal aliens to sign up to work in his campaign," Blackburn said. "[He will] probably be trying to get them to vote. There is a big difference of opinion of how you address individuals that are seeking to come to this country."

The Trump administration is considering an order to block the caravan's migrants at the southern border using the same authority as its earlier travel ban, according to reports Friday, and Blackburn said she supports any actions that will keep people from coming in who want to do harm to the United States.
