American taxpayers were on the hook for more than $600,000 related to Michelle Obama's recent one-night stay in Morocco.
According to the
Washington Free Beacon, Obama, her daughters Sasha and Malia, and her mother Marian Robinson stayed in five-star hotels. Rooms at three top-end hotels were booked for the trip.
The total cost of the one-night stay for hotels and car rentals totaled $612,322. One of the hotel bills amounted to nearly $400,000.
The first lady is on a multi-nation trip that will take her to Liberia, Morocco, and Spain from June 27-July 1. According to
The Daily Mail, air travel costs will reach almost $300,000.
