Report: Megyn Kelly Regrets Jane Fonda Surgery Snafu

By    |   Thursday, 04 October 2018 12:43 PM

Reflecting on her first year on NBC's "Today," Megyn Kelly does not regret asking actress Jane Fonda about plastic surgery during a discussion on aging, but she does lament the fact she allowed Fonda, 80, to "beat up" on her in the media afterward.

"I certainly wish I hadn't put on Jane Fonda," Kelly, 47, told US Weekly. "That didn't go well.

". . . I let her beat up on me repeatedly. She went out there and ripped on me. It's fine. You have to take your licks as a reporter, as an anchor. And she did it again, and she did it again, and she did it again and I didn't say anything."

Kelly, though, would not have conducted the interview on aging without asking the plastic surgery question, she said.

"No, she answered that question in about 40 different forums," Kelly told the magazine. "It was nothing wrong with me.

"I think the issue was somebody who used to work at Fox News was asking it of her that particular day. I know some people don't like Fox News, and some people don't like me, and that's OK."
