Cleveland police have issued a manhunt on Sunday for a man they said killed a person live on Facebook, claiming he had also committed more homicides.
Police notified media agencies and also posted on Twitter a picture of the man they are seeking, Steve Stephens. He is described as a black man, 6-foot-1, 224 lbs., bald with a full beard, wearing a dark blue and grey or black striped polo shirt, and driving a white or cream-colored SUV, according to local CBS affiliate Cleveland19 News.
The suspect is considered armed and dangerous and police are warning residents not to approach Stephens.
Police said a homicide took place in northeast Cleveland near the Lake Erie shore, and the FBI was providing assistance in the case, NBC News reported.
Authorities said Stephens posted on his Facebook page that he had "lost everything" to gambling and named specific people he wanted to talk to. At one point he wrote "I killed 12 people today" and later posted he had killed 15 today, calling it his "Easter day slaughter," according to NBC. No other victims had been found, according to police.
NBC also reported Stephens' Facebook account had been removed.
