Christian Bale might have played Batman in three movies, but he could not play a "real superhero," Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., said Wednesday, while panning the actor's performance as her father, former Vice President Dick Cheney.

"Christian Bale finally had the chance to play a real superhero and he clearly screwed it up," Cheney told Fox News' "Fox & Friends," while responding to statements Bale made in his Golden Globes acceptance speech earlier this week.

The "Vice" actor, while accepting his award as "Best Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy" on Sunday, cited Satan as his inspiration for playing Cheney.

The congresswoman said Wednesday she is "proud and honored" to be Cheney's daughter, and said she has not seen the blockbuster movie.

Bale, in his acceptance speech, also said from now on he would be cornering the market on playing "charisma-free a–holes" like Cheney and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

Rep. Cheney, just after Bale's speech, tweeted a link to a 2008 report from The Independent concerning Bale's arrest on assault charges. Eventually, the actor was not charged with a crime, but Cheney tweeted along with the link "Satan probably inspired him to do this, too."
