Lindsey Graham: If Howard Dean Says Walk Away From Iran Talks, Do It

By    |   Wednesday, 01 April 2015 08:01 PM EDT

Republicans have long been saying the United States should walk away from the negotiating table if Iran won't agree to the West's demands on its nuclear program, and now former Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean is saying the same thing.

South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham says Secretary of State John Kerry should listen.

"I never thought I would live long enough to hear myself say this, but John Kerry should listen to Howard Dean. When Howard Dean says it's time to walk away, it's time to walk away, Graham said Wednesday on Fox News Channel's "On the Record With Greta Van Susteren."

Dean made the statement earlier Wednesday on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."

President Barack Obama desperately wants a deal to secure his foreign policy legacy, Graham told Van Susteren.

Obama's Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes in 2014 was quoted by The Washington Free Beacon as saying, "This is probably the biggest thing President Obama will do in his second term on foreign policy. This is healthcare for us, just to put it in context."
