It's not surprising that Joe Biden and his wife Jill would defend their son Hunter, but the "hypocrisy is wearing" about expecting his actions in Ukraine and elsewhere to be left out of the political conversation, President Donald Trump's daughter-in-law and campaign adviser Lara Trump said Friday.
"None of us have been left out of anything; quite the opposite," Trump, who is married to the president's son Eric, told Fox News' "Fox and Friends" while commenting on the Bidens' appearance on ABC's "The View." "When the president was elected, my husband and Don made a choice to completely get out of any new foreign deals, just to make sure there was no image of impropriety."
However, "the opposite" happened with Hunter Biden, who got into international business while his father was vice president, said Trump.
"We are constantly hit on our side, people making up things and saying we have done something wrong," she added. "The hypocrisy is wearing and people can see that."
Meanwhile, Trump's impeachment was "bad for the Democrats," and it didn't help Biden, said Trump.
"We had record fundraising thanks to [House Speaker] Nancy Pelosi calling for impeachment," she said. "It didn't help Joe Biden. He didn't help himself any ... I was never worried about Joe Biden."
Trump added that she's not worried about the other Democratic candidates, as "we have the best president in the history of this country."
Sen. Bernie Sanders, she added, "is a self-proclaimed socialist" who wants the country to reverse its course and go the "way of Venezuela, the USSR, Cuba."
