A delicatessen frequented by Bill and Hillary Clinton was the scene of a multiple shooting on Monday morning.

Two people suffered gunshot wounds when an armed man opened fire shortly before 7 a.m. at Lange's Little Store & Delicatassen in Chappaqua, a woodsy northern suburb of New York City where the Clintons have lived since 1999.

"Both victims are being treated at Westchester Medical Center and are expected to survive," officials said in a statement. "Preliminary investigation indicates that at least one of the victims may have been known to the suspect."

Authorities identified the suspected shooter as Chao Hengjun, 49, of Tuckahoe, which is 19 miles south of Chappaqua, the Daily Voice reports.

The Clintons are currently on the campaign trail, with Hillary scheduled to attend a fundraiser in Pensacola Beach, Fla. on Monday.

The Voice said Lange's is considered an "institution" in the Westchester County community of 1,500 residents.

When Hillary Clinton launched her campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination last year, her initial ad featured the deli. And Bill Clinton once called the store "small, friendly and beautiful."
