Louisville sophomore quarterback Lamar Jackson on Saturday was named the 2016 Heisman Trophy winner, given to college football player's best player in the nation.
He is the first player from Louisville to win the award and the youngest in Heisman history.
"This is crazy right now for me, man," said Jackson, who donned a bright red jacket and a black and white bow tie at the nationally televised ceremony in New York City.
Jackson was one of five finalists that included Oklahoma redshirt junior quarterback Baker Mayfield, Michigan junior linebacker Jabrill Peppers, Clemson junior quarterback DeShaun Watson and Oklahoma senior wide receiver Dede Westbrook.
Jackson threw for 3,390 yards with 30 touchdowns and nine interceptions for the Cardinals. He also rushed for 1,538 yards and 21 touchdowns.
Louisville plays LSU in the Citrus Bowl on Dec. 31.
