Charles Krauthammer has revealed he is dying from cancer and has only a matter of weeks to live.
In a heartbreaking column published in The Washington Post, the 68-year-old Pulitzer Prize-winning political analyst said he was facing death "with no regrets."
"It was a wonderful life — full and complete with the great loves and great endeavors that make it worth living. I am sad to leave, but I leave with the knowledge that I lived the life that I intended," Krauthammer wrote.
Krauthammer, a Fox News personality, said he had dropped out of sight for the past 10 months after surgery last August to remove a cancerous tumor in his abdomen. It was first thought a success, but recent tests revealed the cancer had returned and was "aggressive and spreading rapidly."
"My doctors tell me their best estimate is that I have only a few weeks left to live. This is the final verdict. My fight is over," Krauthammer wrote.
"I believe that the pursuit of truth and right ideas through honest debate and rigorous argument is a noble undertaking. I am grateful to have played a small role in the conversations that have helped guide this extraordinary nation’s destiny."

In 1987, Krauthammer won the 1987 Pulitzer Prize for distinguished commentary. He also won the People for the American Way's First Amendment Award, the Champion/Tuck Award for Economic Understanding, the first annual Bradley Prize, and the Eric Breindel Award for Excellence in Opinion Journalism.
