President Donald Trump has scheduled a meeting Jan. 16 with the president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, to talk about economic and security issues, the White House announced.
According to the statement, the pair will also talk about international challenges, including Afghanistan, that Kazakhstan will face during its tenure as president of the U.N. Security Council.
The leaders also will discuss nuclear non-proliferation issues, the White House said.
It will be the first White House visit to President Trump from Nazarbayev, who has been president since 1990, The Hill reported. The leaders previously met at the Arab Islamic American Summit in Riyadh in May along with Middle Eastern national leaders.
