Kanye West has given Chicago mayoral candidate Amara Enyia $73,540, which she's used to pay off fees and debts owed to the Illinois State Board of Elections so she can be included on the ballot to take on Mayor Rahm Emanuel.

West's donation is a continuation of other high-profile endorsements following his recent White House meeting with President Donald Trump, and comes six days after Grammy winner Chance the Rapper supported the longshot candidate, reports The Chicago Sun-Times.

However, County Commissioner Stanley Moore, who endorses County Board President Toni Preckwinkle for mayor, asked if her decision to accept money from West means she endorses his stance on Donald Trump and other statements he's made in the past, including making comments about slavery being the fault of slaves.

Enyia told the newspaper last week that she and Chance will be "co-campaigning" until the end of the election cycle.

Chance has promised a "massive” voter registration drive to get help get Enyia elected.

“I’d like to say very narcissistically, if I back you, you have a chance—absolutely,” the Grammy-winning hip-hop artist said during a City Hall news conference.
