Rep. Jerrold Nadler D-N.Y. criticized fellow Democratic House member Rashida Tlaib for her vow to impeach President Donald Trump.
Nadler made his remarks on CNN’s New Day on Friday. An excerpt of the interview was posted on the show’s Twitter account.
In a video, Tlaib, who represents a district in Michigan, is heard saying: “…we’re gonna go in there and we’re going to impeach the mother*****.”
But Nadler said: “No, I don’t really like that kind of language. But more to the point, I disagree with what she said. It is too early to talk about that intelligently. We have to follow the facts. We have to get the facts. That’s why it is important to protect the (Robert) Mueller investigation. That’s why it is important to do our own inquiry.”
But Nadler cautioned against rushing to judgment.
“We have to get the facts – and we’ll see where the facts lead,” he said. “Maybe that will lead to impeachment. Maybe it won’t. It’s much too early. We don’t have all the facts now.”
