President Donald Trump told the Atlantic in an interview released Friday that he considered nominating his daughter, White House adviser Ivanka Trump, to be president of the World Bank.

In a profile of the first daughter, Trump praised her negotiation skills, saying, “she’s a natural diplomat” who “would’ve been great at the United Nations, as an example.”

The president said he didn’t nominate her for the post because if he did, his opponents would claim it was “nepotism, when it would’ve had nothing to do with nepotism. But she would’ve been incredible.”

“I even thought of Ivanka for the World Bank,” he added later. “She would’ve been great at that because she’s very good with numbers.”

Trump ended up nominating David Malpass, the former Treasury undersecretary for international affairs, and he was confirmed by the bank’s executive board just last week.

The president also made sure to mention that he’s proud of his other children.

“Barron is young, but he’s got wonderful potential,” he said. “And Tiffany’s doing extremely well. Don is, uh, he’s enjoying politics; actually, it’s very good. And Eric is running the business along with Don, and also very much into politics. I mean, the children — the children have been very, very good.”
