ABC News/WashPost Poll: Americans Disagree With Nat'l Emergency for Wall

Nearly two-thirds of Americans oppose President Donald Trump's declaration of a national emergency to build additional miles of border barrier, according to a new survey.

Key results in the ABC News/Washington Post poll

  • 64% said they disagree with Trump's national emergency declaration, while 34% support it.
  • The plurality of those polled, 34%, said the asylum process should be left the way it is. 30% said it should be harder and 27% said it should be easier.
  • 64% do not agree with Trump that there is a crisis at the southern border, while 35% think there is a crisis.
  • 57% disapprove of how Trump is handling immigration, while 39% approve.
  • 35% blame Democrats for the immigration problem, while 32% blame Trump.
