Huckabee on Debate Cut: Press Won't Decide Election

By    |   Friday, 06 November 2015 05:40 AM EST

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee was unfazed by Fox Business Network's decision to cut him, along with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, from the main Republican presidential debate next Tuesday.

"I'm happy to debate anyone, anywhere, anytime. We are months away from actual votes being cast and neither the pundits nor the press will decide this election, the people will," he said in a statement to Newsmax.

"Washington is stealing from seniors, punching American workers in the gut, and bankrupting our kids and grandkids. I refuse to let that stand," statement concluded.

Huckabee and Christie were relegated to Tuesday's undercard debate along with former Sen. Rick Santorum and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal. It is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET Tuesday, with the main debate following two hours later.
