House Intelligence Committee Democrats are preparing to release 3,000 Russia-linked ads that appeared on Facebook during the 2016 presidential election, The Wall Street Journal reported.
The release could come this week or next, depending on how long it takes for lawmakers and Facebook execs to haggle over just how much information should be redacted about the users who liked and shared the ads, the Journal reports.
"We have been in ongoing discussions with Facebook and hope to have the final redacted ads in our possession within a matter of days," ranking Intel Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff told the WSJ through a spokesperson Sunday. "As soon as we receive them, it is our intention to share them with the public."
Images of the ads will be shown along with the cost to buy them on Facebook and which groups were targeted, and how many people viewed the ads on the social media giant, the Journal reported.
