House Democrats announced they are postponing their annual retreat because it would come as the temporary government funding deal expires, Roll Call is reporting.

The retreat had been scheduled for Feb. 13-15 in Leesburg, Virginia. But the temporary government funding is set to end on Feb. 15.

Republicans in the House also have delayed their retreat, which was initially scheduled for Jan. 30-Feb. 1 in Sulphur Springs, W. Va. Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calf., had announced the postponement before the shutdown ended. He said the retreat will be rescheduled for the next quarter.

The Democratic Caucus will be setting new dates for its retreat in the near future, Michael Hardaway, spokesman for Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries said.
