A surge in baby girls named "Hillary" and "Ivanka" is reflecting the influence of powerful women on the 2016 campaign trail, according to a new report.
The BabyCenter survey finds the name "Hillary" was up 64 percent, while "Ivanka" had increased 39 percent.
"We've been naming boys after titans of politics, sports, and business for thousands of years," BabyCenter's global editor-in-chief, Linda Murray, said in a statement. "It's refreshing to see the names of powerful modern women being chosen by new parents. Today's parents want their daughters to be strong and successful."
Hillary Clinton was the first woman to become a presidential nominee for a major political party this year, and Ivanka Trump took center stage during the campaign of her father, President-elect Donald Trump.
Non-political female powerhouses also influenced baby-naming, the report showed, with "Ellen" up 30 percent, and "Venus" up 26 percent.
