Hillary Clinton praised newly installed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, saying the California Democrat is getting things done that men could not accomplish — a likely shot at Pelosi's Republican predecessor Paul Ryan.

Clinton recorded a video to be played at the Makers Conference, a three-day gathering to celebrate what women are doing in the workplace and in the halls of Congress.

"You know the tidal wave of women and young people running for office is helping to build an America that's not only kinder, fairer, bigger hearted, but safer, stronger and more secure," said Clinton, a Democrat who lost the 2016 presidential election to President Donald Trump.

"And as Speaker Nancy Pelosi — doesn't that sound great — has proved yet again, it often takes a woman to get the job done."

Yahoo reported on Clinton's remarks.

Clinton, who reportedly has not yet ruled out launching another presidential bid for the 2020 election, added that she is proud to see women speak up against perceived injustices.

"I am energized and encouraged by the diverse group of women everywhere who are speaking out — speaking out against inequality and bigotry and racism and homophobia, and organizing to create change in their communities and our country — refusing to give in to cynicism or fear," she said.

"This is a pivotal moment and all together, I believe, there is nothing we can't do."
