A new HBO series that depicts sex and drug use by teens and features nudity is so graphic that one actor quit during filming and a parents group is demanding that the show not air.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Euphoria" will air its first episode Sunday. The show focuses on teenage life and shows graphic sex, male and female nudity, drug use, a drug overdose, and other controversial topics.

Because the show depicts teenagers, the Parents Television Council is pushing back.

As Fox News reported, the group's president Tim Winter said there's no way this type of content should be geared toward children.

"HBO, with its new high school centered show 'Euphoria,' appears to be overtly, intentionally, marketing extremely graphic adult content — sex, violence, profanity and drug use — to teens and preteens," Winter said.

Winter pointed to show creator Sam Levinson's insistence that parents will be "freaked out" as evidence that teens are the show's target audience.

"That is a demonstration of who he is targeting with this show. HBO is now internationally marketing this content to children," Winter said.
