Political oppositions are unified on at least one important thing leading up to the Iowa caucuses Monday: Civility is needed.
Just 10% of registered voters think it is not necessary, while an overwhelming 90% say it is important for politicians to be civil to each other, according to the latest Hill-HarrisX poll.
It was not a partisan decision either, like so many in recent years:
- Democrats 90%
- Independents 90%
- Republicans 89%
Also, age, gender, race, and region were all similarly united in the need for civility, which has been tested under President Donald Trump's administration and the attacks against him from the media and his more extreme opponents.
The poll was conducted online among 1,001 registered voters from Jan. 30-31 and has a margin or error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.
