Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., on Wednesday delivered a sharp rebuke of President Donald Trump, calling him “a predator" during a campaign event in Iowa.
ABC News tweeted the remarks. Her blast at Trump begins about the 3:40-minute mark.
“I know predators and we have a predator living in the White House,” she said in West Des Moines.
"Donald Trump has predatory nature and predatory instincts. The thing about predators is that they prey on the vulnerable. They prey on those who they do not believe are strong. The thing about predators you must importantly know [is] predators are cowards."
It wasn’t the first time she labeled the president a predator.
In South Carolina at a Democratic Party event last month, Harris also touted her ability to take on predators, pointing to her career as a prosecutor.
A new Reuters/Ipsos poll released Wednesday showed Harris surging to third place among Democratic presidential contenders, behind Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and frontrunner former Vice President Joe Biden.
