Nearly a year after the Rev. Billy Graham died, his legacy is he shared the story of what Christmas is all about, according to his son, Rev. Franklin Graham, who shared his own Christmas message Tuesday.

"My father gave his life to share this wonderful story which Christmas is all about," Graham told Fox News' "Fox & Friends." "God so loved in the world that he gave his only begotten son to have everlasting life. The bible says, or Jesus said, 'I am the way, the truth, and the light, no man comes to the father but through me.' My father spent his life sharing this Christmas story."

Graham said he is grateful for his father's legacy and the example he set for him and his family, and "of course we miss him this Christmas."

"It is the first Christmas without him, but I know where he is," Graham said. "He's in the presence of God."

As for Graham's Christmas message, he said he would encourage people to pause and thank God for their blessings.

"Even though we may be going through something difficult, I can promise you other people are going through things that are more difficult," Graham said. "We can certainly just thank him for all he's given to us and his blessings on us . . . I just want to say to God, thank you for my life, for my family, and thank you for my friends."
