Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee said Friday people must work with law-abiding Muslims to combat radical Islamic terrorism in the wake of a bomb attack on London's subway system.
"This is not a Muslim issue, this is a terrorist issue. People have co-opted Islam and made it their justification for killing people," Huckabee said on Fox News. "And, so we need to join with people of the Islamic faith in saying this is unacceptable. This is not religion. This is fanaticism and it's evil."
The Daily Caller posted a clip of Huckabee's comments.
A bomb contained in a bucket partially detonated on a London Tube car Friday morning, injuring more than two dozen people. Officials said if the bomb had fully detonated, the damage could have been much worse.
British Prime Minister Theresa May has since raised the country's threat level to "critical," which means another attack could be imminent.
Huckabee said the open borders across Europe are making terrorism worse.
"All over Europe, whether it's Barcelona, Paris, Brussels, London, there's no safe place," he said. "Europe is becoming a very frightening place to be for many people because the open borders are simply not working."
