Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., thinks Joe Biden will run for president in 2020, CNN reports.

“Oh yes,” Feinstein told the news outlet Thursday when asked whether Biden plans to put together a bid following a sit-down the pair had earlier in the day in his Washington, D.C., office.

Feinstein has publicly said Biden would be her choice for the Democratic nomination in 2020, telling reporters the former vice president, “brings a level of experience and seniority which I think is really important.”

Biden has not yet stated he will run, but in early December during a stop on his book tour said he was the “most qualified” person to run.

“The issues that we face as a country today are the issues that have been in my wheelhouse, that I've worked on my whole life,” Biden said in Missoula, Montana, adding that “No one should run for the job unless they believe that they would be qualified doing the job. I've been doing this my whole adult life.”

Feinstein told CNN that Biden didn’t explicitly tell her he would run, just that she was under the impression he would following their conversation.
