Eric Trump to Newsmax TV: Biden Can't Match Father's Energy

Monday, 03 May 2021 08:14 PM EDT

Former President Trump has always been an "Energizer Bunny," working from the wee hours of the morning to the the wee hours of the night, his son, Eric Trump, executive vice president of the Trump Organization, tells Newsmax TV.

Eric Trump, appearing on "Greg Kelly Reports" Monday night, was responding to a report by Newsmax TV's Emerald Robinson that Biden's public schedule has been light compared to predecessors.

Biden had only five public events last week outside of daily briefings, while Trump, during the same comparable week in office had nine public events every other day.

"After my father left at 9 o'clock, 10 o'clock at night … still, he'd still be making calls," Eric Trump said of his father's time at the White House. "I mean, my father never stopped. He never stopped."

Trump was checking in on Republicans and dealing with various crises even after long working hours, his son said.

That work ethic had extended from his days running the Trump Organization, he said.

Trump was also speaking to world leaders and traveling the world, Eric Trump noted.

"He was in Poland. He was in Saudi Arabia. He was in North Korea. You probably remember that no one could believe that he walked across the DMZ and into North Korea."

With Biden, on the other hand, Eric Trump said, "You can go weeks without seeing this guy. They're not going down to the southern border. Neither he nor (Vice President Kamala) Harris. They're not working. They're not meeting with Gold Star families, they're not meeting with Border Patrol. They're not touring construction projects. These guys are virtually nowhere to be found. The contrast is baffling to say the least."

Trump, at age 74, was wearing out reporters covering his campaign who were 50 years his junior, Eric Trump added.

"They would be sleeping in a backpack," he said. "You know, in the back of an auditorium after the six rallies with three empty Red Bulls next to them totally passed out. They couldn't keep up with him, yet he's delivering hours and hours of speeches to different crowds, where he has to keep such mojo such energy going the entire time."

Asked by host Greg Kelly if the public will get to see that energy again, a hint that Trump rallies in the near future, and maybe even another run for the presidency in 2024, is in the offing, Eric Trump responded, I think we will get it again. I promise we will get it again.
