If this emerging technology comes to fruition, Apple Watches and laptops will be replaced by brain chips that could enable people to hear music in their minds, order a latte without opening their mouths, or go online shopping in their heads. The seemingly unstoppable technological advance is now raising serious questions about security, privacy, and ethical concerns.
"[Musk] wants to put Google inside your brain and use AI to augment humans," said Dr. Jose Morey, an Eisenhower fellow who has served as a technology adviser for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and NASA. "That's the end goal of what he's trying to do."
