President Barack Obama would rather see a Republican in the White House after he leaves in 2017 than Hillary Clinton, best-selling conservative author Ed Klein told
Newsmax TV on Thursday.
"If the Clintons returned to the White House, they will control the Democratic Party apparatus," Klein told "Newsmax Prime" hosts J.D. Hayworth and Miranda Khan. "All the patronage, all the money, all the commissions — everything that goes with it."

"Obama will be sidetracked if that happens and not have the kind of influence he wants to have going forward after his presidency," he said.
Likewise, the president privately wants Clinton indicted by the Justice Department in the email scandal — but thinks the attention could dominate the last months of his White House term, Klein said.
"Obama, in his heart of hearts, would love to see her indicted so that Joe Biden can ride in on a white horse and save the Democratic Party," he told Newsmax. "However, does Obama really want to see this eruption, the convulsion that would take place in the Democratic Party if Hillary were indicted?"
"It would totally, completely dominate the news for months — overshadowing anything he might do in the last few months of his presidency," Klein added. "My bottom line is no matter what he might wish for, he feels he'd be a lot better off if Hillary sails through this and is not indicted."
