So far three Philadelphia Eagles players have said they will skip the traditional Super Bowl victors' trip to the White House in protest of President Donald Trump, multiple outlets reported.
Starting defensive players Malcolm Jenkins and Chris Long, along with starting wide receiver Torrey Smith already have said they will boycott a trip to the White House. Long, who is white, skipped last year's trip to the White House when he was a member of the New England Patriots.
Jenkins made an appearance on CNN's "New Day" morning program.
Smith was asked about a potential trip to the White House last week.
"We read the news just like everyone else," Smith said last week. "You see Donald Trump tweet something. . . We have those conversations in the locker room, just like everyone else does in the workplace. We're very informed about what goes on, and we're trying to continue to educate ourselves.
"I'm not saying we're right about everything, but we're willing to figure out what is right. We're willing to work with people to find the best way to move forward, because there are problems and we're not shy about speaking up about them," Smith said.
Eagles running back LeGarrette Blount, a member of the Patriots' Super Bowl team last year, also boycotted the White House, according to CNN.
