President Donald Trump Monday tweeted praise for a satirical book, filled with blank pages and titled "Reasons to Vote for Democrats," after its author appeared on television and lauded his foreign policy successes.
Trump first tweeted agreement with a statement made during the show that the first 90 days of his presidency "exposed the total failure of the last eight years of foreign policy":
Then, a few minutes later, he tweeted an endorsement for the book, whose author, Daily Wire correspondent Michael J. Knowles, had just appeared on the "Fox and Friends" program:
Knowles' book became a best seller last month, but is only listed through third-party sellers on Amazon. The least expensive copy was being sold for over $160.
Knowles said Monday that he's learned by producing the blank book that "doing nothing really can pay. That is an amazing lesson of reasons to vote for Democrats."
He also told the program that there has been a second edition released, called "What Democrats are Doing," which is even more concise and more thorough.
Knowles said that he does believe that in the first 100 days of Trump's presidency, "we have exposed the total failure of the last eight years of foreign policy . . . I think people on both sides of the aisle are seeing a real breath of fresh air coming in."
He said he believes his book has been successful because it is "true."
