Donald Trump is mulling the use of seized money and assets from cartels and other players in the war on drugs to pay for a border wall.
According to LifeZette, the Trump campaign is looking at this as one way to fund the construction of a wall between the United States and Mexico if he wins the presidency.
This option was not discussed during Trump's meeting with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto Wednesday, LifeZette reports.
The cost of a border wall could reach $15 billion or more, although Trump has vowed to keep it between $8 billion and $12 billion.
Trump reiterated Wednesday after his meeting with Nieto that he intends to make Mexico pay for the wall. Nieto, however, said that's not going to happen.
The Border Patrol, meanwhile faces an uphill battle in the fight against tunnels that are built between Mexico and the U.S. As agents find and seal up a tunnel, another is discovered — through which drugs, money, and people can flow.
