Donald Trump continued his insult-fueled attack on Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough of "Morning Joe" on Friday — posting a tweet alleging that the "crazy and very dumb" Brzezinski suffered a "mental breakdown" while criticizing his presidential campaign.
Trump's blast came after he was criticized by a group of panelists on MSNBC's morning talk show for indicating that he may be "softening" on his hard-line immigration policy.
The billionaire real-estate tycoon was once a regular guest on "Morning Joe" and had chatty and cordial conversations with Brzezinski and Scarborough, a former GOP congressman. But tensions grew as the program became more critical of Trump's policies and campaign rhetoric.
On Friday, Scarborough accused Trump of adopting President Barack Obama's policies on undocumented immigrants and "trying to prove to white voters he's not a bigot."
"There's confusion inside the campaign, there's confusion outside the campaign," he added. "They are doing nothing right. They don't have a ground game anywhere. They don't even have representatives in key counties across America. It's like somebody getting ready for the Olympics and just sitting and eating bonbons and Cheetos and drinking beer."
When Scarborough said the Trump campaign believes there is "a method to this madness," Brzezinski responded, "It's really generous you think there's even a method here."
Earlier this week, "Morning Joe" infuriated Trump by releasing a music video titled "Amnesty Don," which labelled the Republican presidential nominee a "soft and flaccid man" for "waffling" on immigration.
Trump has always bristled over subtle insults about his manhood. After Sen. Marco Rubio hinted during a debate that the billionaire real estate tycoon was less than well-endowed, Trump insisted, "I guarantee you there's no problem."
Also on Friday, Trump tweeted:
