Another account of life inside the Trump White House is to be published in late January, Politico reported Monday.
The memoir, "Team of Vipers: My 500 Extraordinary Days in the Trump White House," is by Cliff Sims, a Trump adviser who joined the West Wing staff at the beginning as a special assistant to the president after working on the campaign. He left the White House in May 2018.
Sims was responsible for message strategy and was viewed as a MAGA loyalist who argued with staffers who were from the "establishment" Republican National Committee.
Politico reported the book is neither a takedown of the administration nor a glowing account, but attempts to strike some middle ground.
According to a forthcoming new release published by Axios, "After standing at Donald Trump's side on election night, Cliff Sims joined him in the West Wing [and] soon found himself pulled into the president's inner circle as a confidante, an errand boy, an adviser, a punching bag, and a friend. Sometimes all in the same conversation."
The book is based on hundreds of pages of notes Sims took in real time of his tenure in the White House, according to Fortune.
He reportedly received a seven-figure advance for the book, which will be published by Thomas Dunne Books, an imprint of St. Martin's Press.
